THAILAND

Next we drove into the busy heart of Bangkok (Photo T 9: Jabbawouk in Bangkok). We checked with the vietnam embassy wether it is possible to take the truck. We got send on to the german embassy in vietnam and unfortunatly they didn`t had a clue either and puts us back to the vietnam embassy in bangkok.

Anyway we met Marta and Dominik and again Sandra and Axel which was great.

We are heading north. We looked at the ancient city (temples) in Ayutthaya and Sukhothai (Photo T 10: Elephanttemple) and bumbed into the two swiss people with the campervan again.

Through the pretty boring flatland we reached the mountains. From now on top speed was 30 km/h, the fourth gear was on holiday. Behind the village Hot we found some hot springs. We tried to remember when we had our last warm bath. About half a year ago in hot springs in Australia. It was nice.

What is nice, too, is that it is cool, in the evening even very cold. And fresh air. Absolutly great.

We stopped in remote mountainvillages were we see women smoking huge cigarettes, wrapped in leaves and pipes. With a sling shoot they bring the cows on the mountains (Photo T 11: evening in a mountain village). Other women are spinning threads and weave them on selfmade frames to beautiful blankets and sarongs. We eat sticky rice with them which gets soaked for 2-3 hours and then steamed. They keep it in special bamboo baskets with a lid for two days.
